Bear Grylls Survival Academy – teambuilding challenge

The Bear Grylls Survival Academy Ultimate Teambuilding is designed to push you and your team to the limit in a controlled, safe and encouraging environment. You don’t need the fitness of a commando though, as all of the activities have been designed so that nearly everyone can take part.  Led by a team of highly trained instructors who have worked with Bear in extreme environments worldwide.

Your team will face real life challenges with elements of bush craft, high ropes and wilderness rescue.

Each challenge is bespoke and will be designed to enhance your team’s skills whether it be communication skills, leadership, management or teamwork as a whole.

Boat Crash Scenario

In this element the group will be thrust into a boat crash - you are stranded on the ice and you have to build a shelter, light a signal fire, collect enough water for a night and create a giant SOS on the ground large enough to be seen from the air. This will teach your team some potentially lifesaving bush craft skill along with lessons in leadership, delegation, multi-tasking and communication.

Improvised Stretcher Race

As a team use your wits to treat and carry an injured team member to safety. Treat the casualty from head to toe using slings, strapping and bandages before learning a few knots and building a stretcher using what you can find scattered around in the wilderness. Then you will race against another team, over undulating and difficult terrain to see who can finish first. This will enhance teamwork, encouragement and leadership in difficult circumstances.

Land Rover Pull

Place yourselves in the shoes of Shackleton and his men- hundreds of miles of Antarctic Ice to cover and nothing but man power and determination to get there.

Use a few of your newly learned knots to make the task easier and make sure that you use the largest muscles for greatest efficiency. You will race against another team, being navigated by a team leader who is also responsible for encouragement and direction. This activity is ideal for teamwork, communication and understanding each other under pressure.
