Todd Tomlin, Manager, Hyatt Gift Card & Certificate Operations, opened the show by giving a unique and personal perspective on the power of a well-orchestrated and desirable card incentive from the Hyatt Group. Wendy Carter, Publisher, Incentive & Motivation Magazine presented a few highlights from some recently conducted market research, giving the HR professionals views on gift cards as an employee incentive. This research was then followed up with some nuggets from the Incentive Research Foundation (IRF), which centred on the importance of keeping an incentive separate from salary or price.
Andrew Wilmot, CEO, Maroon Elephant, who offer social media consulting, participated in a panel discussion, alongside Steve Bradbery, Director, Stored Value Solutions, and Brian Dunne, President, IMA Europe. One view that came out of the discussion was that the return and investment you make today in social media ensures that your business will be in a much stronger position in five years' time.
Again in keeping with international tone Cindy Mielke, JC Pennys/Marketing Innovators, out of Chicago, held a structured conversation and interactive Q&A session around what can be learnt in Europe from the US and what are the key points of difference.
Brian Dunne said: "We were delighted with the attendance, the speakers provided thought provoking presentations and the audience represented a truly international flavour with visitors from New Zealand, Germany and the US."
The next meeting will take place on 12 June 2014 at Excel, alongside PayExpo. The meeting is open to new members.
