The Solution

Created a bespoke programme called ‘my.recognition’ that offers employees to regularly be recognised, provide a long-term ongoing reward mechanism; encourage continuous use of bwin.party’s values.

What we did

Bwin.party came to Corporate Rewards to build a bespoke programme that would help with the employee merger of two gaming companies, bwin Interactive entertainment and PartyGaming. The programme would need to encourage employees to recognise and reward each other using the company’s key values.

The system integrates with an existing benefits system and allows the employees to nominate each other recognising bwin.party’s values worldwide. Alongside the nominations (which have seen a successful 61% increase), employees are encouraged to submit big ideas to benefit the business, share good news stories, seek out recommended people for vacancies and send e-cards. Employees are automatically awarded for their commitment to the company and receive long service shares.

The rewards are catalogue based and each person can spend their points on many aspirational products including adventure experiences, jewellery, electricals and days out.

The employees using the system are located across five countries, UK, Gibraltar, Austria, Bulgaria and India and each one has specific region assigned on the system meaning reward catalogues are locally sourced where possible.

Building a bespoke programme meant that bwin.party could include specific functionality on the website, a good example is the commitment awards where the users are automatically awarded shares dependant on the long service thresholds and giving a short time period for users to convert their shares into points for them to use in the rewards catalogue. All user data is sent via SFTP and data integration is automatically updating user accounts daily.

All recognition activity and award decisions are based on pre- agreed processes and criteria allowing line managers, budget holders and the executive team to control and award immediately. Budgets are assigned either by country, divisions or by an individual budget holder to allow funds to be controlled, monitored and managed by bwin.party.

The nomination system’s use has grown considerably with users nominating across departments and countries. The employee redemption rate is continually growing too; 36% increase in last six months.

These positive facts are ensuring bwin.party hit their programme aim of developing a high performance culture where bwin.party employees are engaged and well rewarded for the achievement of stretching goals.
